Windows Vista Home Basic

Ran ipconfig /release and I get this.
"The operation failed as no adapter is in the state permissible for operation"

So I ran devmgmt.msc and got three errors on my networking card

isatap.{91E3BF64-6F8B-414D-85AC-681B2F6C987E}
Microsoft 6to4 adapter #7
Microsoft 6to4 adapter #8

All three giving me the error of "This device is not working properly because windows cannot load the drivers required for this device (Cone 31)"

I attempted to update the drivers but it only tells me that Windows thinks that the drivers that are running it are correct. It was working not to long ago, not I can only access my lan, or so my connection box says haven't tried anything on the LAN yet.

Any hints?

What is listed in Device Manager under Network Adapters? What, if any, warnings or errors are in Device Manager?

Also, please show ...

Start, Run, CMD, OK to open a command prompt:
(For Vista or 7 type CMD in the Search box after Start)

Type the following command:

IPCONFIG /ALL

[Note that there is no space between the slash and ALL.]

Right click in the command window and choose Select All, then hit Enter.
Paste the results in a message here.

If necessary use a text file and removable media to copy the results to a computer with internet access.

I will have to screen shot to and transfer it over seeing how that computer does not have internet capabilities at this time. I'll have them up shortly.

Your ethernet is showing up in the ipconfig /all, so it is very puzzling why it is not in Device Manager either properly under Network Adapters or elsewhere with an error.

Try a dynamic connection and see if it will work.

To configure a dynamic IP address on your Windows Vista or 7 computer:

1. Click Start.
2. Select Network, then Network and Sharing Center, and click Manage network connections or Change adapter settings from the list of tasks.
3. Right click the connection of interest and click Properties.
4. Select Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4) from the list and click the Properties button.
5. Select Obtain an IP address automatically.
6. Select Obtain DNS Server address automatically.
7. Click OK.
8. Click Close.

Seems that I left one out of my list...

Marvell Yukon 88E8056 PCI-E Gigabit Ethernet Controller

Right clicked on it and selected properties, it shows that the device is working properly.

I did what you said and OMG it worked!!! I had attempted to change IPV6 but not IPV4!!!

THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!
