hi all my problem is that a while ago i posted a problem that my computer was running slow and i asked some people on this forum to suggest any ideas, some people suggested spyware/adware solutions (which ive already done using adaware and spyware doctor) and they have found nothing. other people said if i upgraded my my ram (was 256MB i added a 512MB on top of that) and got a bigger hard drive(i only av a 28 GB getting round to buying a bigger one) this would help but since upgrading my ram yesterday it has speeded up my comuter but it still runs slow and crashes. i av virus software (trend micro) and i scan regualry but i finds nothing, i av defragmented many times and that has done very little also. can anybody plz suggest anything that can boost my computers speed

    im running
windows XP pro service pack 2
    1.66GHz AMD k7 processor
    736MB RAM
and im not sure if this is relevant but i av a
    KVM266PM mainbord

    will someone plz help

Will give you a procedure to fix it yourself to keep it from being re-infected.
[1] Download, install and run Webroots, Spysweeper
[2] Download. install and run Firefox 1.0 Browser.
[3] Get yourself a good virus program like Avast Anti-Virus which automatically updates its program and definitions.
[2 and 3] are free programs, Spysweeper, which has won numberous
awards is well worth the money. http://www.webroot.com/

Your Mercury KVM266PM mainboard will support the following.

    Memory

    - 2 x 184-pin DDR DIMM socket support up to 2 GB
    - Support DDR333/266 2.5V DDR SDRA

    It is better to fit 2 x 256Mb, 2 x 512Mb or 2 x 1024Mb modules.

Is your drive partitioned, and is it formatted to FAT32 or to NTFS?
