I buy a canon S200 for £35 and i get it has no USB cable!
I check the manual and it says that yes I have to go out and buy a USB cable!

Lucky i know where to get them for 60p (www.ebuyer.co.uk) but i bet there have been a few people who went down to PC world and paid £10 for one!

I thought canon was a good brand! oh well!

I bought an hp printer several years ago and it didn't have the disk to install (which should have been included). I called hp and they sent me one at no cost, but I went days without one...

If you are referring to the S200 printer and not the Elph S200 camera it is not unusual to purchase printers nowadays without the connector cables. It is also not unusual to purchase with only one Ink Cartridge such as Lexmarks Z22\Z23. The Manufacturers take a loss on getting their equipment into your Home so they can make money on the Cartridges and Cabling. If you look on the outside of the box you will not see any notation Cabling or cartridges extra or not included.

I recently purchased the Lexmark z22 for $28.00 US, to take the load off the PhotoSmart 1100. I had an extra USB cable but had to buy the second cartridge for $28.00. Still pretty cheap but it sure is misleading the public.
