Can You Create Your Own 'Mode'

    Like there is 'Safe mode' and 'Normal Mode' (winxp)

    well, is there some strange way to make your own mode, im not sure how but, is there???

    Yes there are startup options that can be specified. Safe mode uses most of them, but you could create a seperate mode using only the options you want. I am not sure it is exactly the same as w2k, but in w2k the startup line is in c:\boot.ini. It is a read-only file but by reading the option lines, you could add additional "modes" by adding lines utilizing the command option you like.

    While this is possible, I don't know of any advantage you would gain as most of the options disable some portion of the OS.
