    Hi All,

As I am sure you can tell I couldnt think of a concise title for the problem. The symptoms are that if i try to access my hotmail, after logging in the first page never loads. I tried to access the system restore but cannot (it did provide an error but I am not at the machine now - i will post the exact details later) access the page due to a JavaScript error. This occures when I try to access the Users part of the control pannel as well. The problem seems to affect any https sites. I have installed spybot and adaware and have tried running a virus scan but to no avail. Any other ideas or is this a rebuild?

Not necessarily a rebuild job. You could be right in suspecting virus activity, though.

To assist in your problem, we need you to download HijackThis (http://www.trendsecure.com/portal/en-US/threat_analytics/HJTInstall.exe). Install the program (it will save to C:\Program Files\Trend Micro\HijackThis), run it, and select 'Scan'. Do not fix anything yet, just select 'Save log', and copy the contents of the log to your next post. A security expert will be along to check the log. Please be patient.

If, after 48 hours, you have not received a response, click on the 'Report' button at the bottom of your post, and ask politely to have the post moved to the Malware Removal forum.
