    Hi guys. I have been unable to access The facebook site for a few days now. Its not a login problem, I can't load the site at all. It loads a blank screen and says "waiting for static.ak.fbcdn.net..." But the site does not load.
    I've tried a few suggestions i've found on here on this thread: http://forums.techguy.org/web-email/950929-solved-cant-access-facebook-website.html
    And some from other sites but to no avail.

    I have tried resetting my router, flushing my dns cashe, reinstalling my browser and entering the site using https instead of http (which does load but I can't click on anything). My roommate has no trouble accessing fb and we share an internet connection so it must be something on my system. I'm running 64bit win7 and have tried Firefox and IE8.

    Can anyone please Help?

    Please click HERE to download and install HijackThis.

    Run it and select Do a system scan and save a logfile from the Main Menu.

    The log will be saved in Notepad. Copy and paste the log in your next post.

    IMPORTANT: Do not fix anything

    ===================================================================

    Press the Windows key + R to open a Run box.

    Type CMD.

    Press OK.

    In the Command Prompt, type ipconfig /all.

    Press Enter.

    Copy (right-click and Select All > press Enter) the entire content of that window and paste it into your next reply.

    Try the following:

    Delete your browser cache (temporary Internet files, cookies, history...)

    ==============================================================

    Click Start > Programs > Accessories > right-click on Command Prompt, select "Run as Administrator" to open a command prompt.

    In the Command Prompt,

    Type ipconfig /release

    Press Enter.

    Type ipconfig /renew

    Press Enter.

    ==============================================================

    If no luck,

    Try changing your D-Link DWA-140 RangeBooster N USB Adapter's MAC address (yours is 00-26-5A-0A-FD-FC).

    First make sure this doesn't violate your ISP's service agreements. In that case, it would probably not work.

    The following software can do it for you:

    SMAC

    ==============================================================

    You can try changing your IP address. Your actual IP address might be blocked by a server's firewall software along the path to Facebook, for whatever reason.

    Still no joy i'm afraid. I've removed the d-link and plugged directly into the router, but it has made no difference. I've also refreshed the ip config.

    I logged in to the router and changed the ip address that way, but its still refusing to let me access that one site, and won't fully load others (this one included)

    I'm gonna load up spybot in case this is some fb related malware that my regular antiviral hasn't picked up on.

    Did you try everything in my previous post?

    Also,

    Try using:

    Google Public DNS (follow the instructions for changing the DNS settings in your router)

    Or, OpenDNS.

    yep i've tried everything. Changing to googles public dns has no effect on the pc. If I try to get the router to change ip addresses it won't accept them. but other computers on the same router do not have my problem.

    ok. The site now works for me. BUT only if I use the Https page to login. Previously no part of the site was acessable, so possibly fb have changed something or something I did yesterday only took effect after a period of downtime. The problem still persists but Now I have a workaround.

    Thanks for all your help Phantom. Much appreciated.

    Interesting that using https lets you connect, and not http. I'd check your browser security settings, firewall and antivirus.

    By the way, is your Windows Firewall turned ON? I'm guessing your Avast firewall is ON?

    Avast is ON windows firewall is OFF
    However enabeling or disabeling both of them has no impact on my facebook accessing abilities.
