    Hi,

My computer is using Windows XP and has exhibited problems recently.

Specifically, certain items under the start menu no longer work. For example, if I click on any of the right side menu items such as: My Documents, My Pictures, My Music, My Computer, My Network Places, Control Panel, etc., the screen refreshes and then returns to normal, without bringing up the requested information. So, I cant access the operating system. If I double click on the trash can icon, the same thing happens. I can still run programs from the start menu and from the desktop.

Also, before this happened, Internet Explorer crashed every time I ran it (I have switched to Netscape). I mention this in case it is related. I tried numerous things to fix the IE problem, to no avail.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Many thanks,
    Nick
