Help! I am trying to capture my home videos from 8mm tape so I can make CD's. After 10 minutes of capture, I get an IM01017 error, saying I've exceeded my drive space. The 10 minutes captured are just over 4 gig!
How can I just put my 30-80 minutes of home video onto a CD? I'm not trying to edit, just copy.
    Thanks.

It sounds like you're bumping up against the 4GB file size limit inherent with Win98 and WinME. If you're using XP, maybe the Sony software still shuts off at 4GB. However, XP if used with the NFTS file system on the hard drive can do bigger files.

I looked at the Image Maker specs and see it can import to MPEG instead of AVI. Doing that should allow more minutes per GB. Depending on the quality settings, you should get an hour of MPEG on a CD, but it won't be as good as the original material viewed on a TV. You can do a lot more with home video if you have a DVD burner. It allows you to create movies that can be viewed on a TV instead of a small window on a PC.
