Several months ago... I got a virus or malware that messed up my computer... only STOPzilla fixed it... .and now I cannot change my background wallpaper.

Since I am a huge NASCAR fan... I must have my drivers current car... not last years....

Today I tried to change it again... and now all I can change is the background colors.... no themes work and I cannot set as background an image.... it says access denied... any help would be great.

sfc /scannow stops at 73 percent and errors out....

Windows Resource Protection could not perform the requested operation.

Yes ... and except the part about a third party.... nothing I tried... and I tried them all... worked.

I have no idea if I have a third party product controlling my background... and I am not sure how or where to look

If I switch to a different profile, I can change my background....

Looking here....

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929833

not sure which path to use to repair my profile..... am I on the right track?

I am looking at:

Step2: If the System File Checker tool cannot repair a file.
