I don't know where you got the DNS server address of 85.255.116.103, but it's a public IP address and it's not responding to pings. That would indicate it's probably also not going to be a very useful DNS Server. :)

I'd check with the university IT folks, because we have no way of knowing what's behind the curtain, you appear to have a good connection to the DHCP server, but some odd addresses come back.

If I remember correctly, the 85.255.11x.xxx DNS servers are part of some trojans that perform redirection through DNS hijacking. I would suggest posting a hijack this log just so we can make sure.

So, I did my research, and it looks like the 85.255.11x.xxx range is used by DNS Hijacker trojans. Perhaps, that one/the whole range finally got knocked offline for illegal activities. I would definitely suggest posting a hijack this log.

10.1.32.2 is what is listed as dns server in the ipconfig. This appears to be an internal school dns server. Can you ping it?

Certainly seems suspicious concerning the 85.255.116.103 ip.

    Time for a virus check?

I did a virus check using Sophos but it did not detect it so I used SuperAntiSpyware and it managed to fix the 85.255.116.103 ip. I can ping 10.1.32.2 but now I think there are problems with the university network so I need to speak to them. But thanks for your help
