I have a Dell Latitude E6440 laptop running Windows 10 Pro with a Brightbox 2 Router from EE and for some unknown (to me) reason cannot now connect my wired connection to the web. I've read a few previous posts which ask users to post the results from ipconfig / all command, which I have completed below. The ethernet cable I am using has been tested with my Apple TV and is working fine. If anyone can spot anything unusual in the report below and advise a solution I'd be very grateful.

well before we go any further - the ipconfig does not show an Ethernet connection
click the connection icon on the notifications area
open network and sharing centre
on left pane click change adapter settings
is there an icon for the local area connection
if there is right click it and if it shows disabled click enable

from what I see in the ipconfig I do not think the listing will be there in network and sharing centre which would indicate there is no driver for it
If that is the case
go here

http://www.dell.com/support/article/uk/en/ukbsdt1/SLN288717/ja
see item 10

then go here
http://www.dell.com/support/home/uk...de-e6440-laptop&languageCode=en&categoryId=NI

read the instructions and download and install

The listed
Ethernet adapter Ethernet 3:

Media State . . . . . . . . . . . : Media disconnected
Connection-specific DNS Suffix . :
Description . . . . . . . . . . . : TAP-Windows Adapter V9
Physical Address. . . . . . . . . : 00-FF-5B-F7-86-AC
DHCP Enabled. . . . . . . . . . . : Yes
Autoconfiguration Enabled . . . . : Yes

is not the connection you want that is an Open VPN driver
and usually appears on the ipconfig after installing a virtual private network application

Is the ethernet adapter listed under Network Adapters in Device Manager?

What, if any, warnings or errors are anywhere in Device Manager?
