ok, my pc is well overdue a format, i'm not very good with these kind of things but i know i have some trojans and nasty spyware on my pc, so i put all my files i wanna keep in one folder, and bought some dvds to burn before a format.

the thing is, when i try to drag and drop the files to my e drive i get the following error :

"Cannot create or replace <file name>: The requested resource is in use"

i've tried in safe mode, and still same message. i'm worried if i can't back this stuff up my problem will get worse and worse and eventually i'll lose it all.

if anyone can shed some light on the problem i'd be very grateful, thanks.

Are you using XP's native burner to try and burn a DVD?, if so it only supports CD.

Although it should not produce that specific error...

It more points to the fact that the file(s) are in use by Windows.
