:( I am using Windows 7 and I cannot delete an empty folder on my desktop.
I get the message: Could not find this item This is no longer in C:\Users\Kim\Desktop. Verify the item's location and try again.

Where did it come from? What was in it? Does it have an unusual name?

How this fault pops up, I have no idea, but I suspect it is through one or other of the "cleaners" available. Run this fix and I think you will find the registry is repaired.

Well now I have two I can't delete...sigh. They were folders that contained e-faxes of mine, one each. The first one I was able to delete the fax and ended up with an empty folder but still couldn't delete the folder. The second I didn't delete the fax so that folder still contains one but I didn't see the need to delete the fax since it didin't seem to make a difference on the first one.

Do you see the folders in C:\Users\<your account>\Desktop? If so try to delete them from there. If (when) that doesn't work try dragging them to the Recycle Bin. If (when) that doesn't work Restart the system. Are they still there?

What are the exact names of the folder(s)?

Do you get a context menu when right-clicking them? Does it have the same entries as other folders?

You could rebuild your indexes: Start --> Search --> Indexing Options --> Advanced --> Rebuild......

    This may fix it.
