Hi, I ran Revo Uninstaller "Evidence Remover" on my Windows 7 PC. My computer was turned off during the process. I found a 120 Gig file, EVREM on one of the drives that I cannot delete. I rand the Evendense Remover again until it finished, but the file is still there and I can't delete it.

What kind of error are you getting when you try to delete the file? It's possible the account you're on does not have ownership over that file. You can try using ICACLS to force removal of the file's ACL and give yourself full ownership. In order to do so, in the console, type the following:

    CD "<file path>"
    ICACLS "<filename.evrem>" /reset /C
    ICACLS "<filename.evrem>" /inheritance:e
    ICACLS "<filename.evrem>" /grant <user:mad:D,WDAC)
    DEL "<filename.evrem>"

Now you should be able to manually delete the file. Remember, there's no need for quotes as long as there is no spaces in the path or file name. ICACLS is a very helpful program when you need to get rid of files that Windows isn't letting you delete. I've used it to manually delete a Windows installation on one of my backup drives without formatting, which without ICACLS, is impossible.

For example, say I had a file in my Windows folder named randomfile.exe that I needed to change the ACL on so I could delete, I would type the following:

Unfortunately, the forum is forcing emoticons on the grant line. The line is /grant Administrator: (D,WDAC) without the space between the colon and parenthesis.

Thank you for your reply, I followed your instructions and it cleared the content of the file, which has solved 99% of the problem.
The empty file is still sitting in the root of my drive, any idea how I can remove that?
Thanks once again for your help

    Darkicon,

I've edited your post to eliminate the smiley. For future reference, whe posting items that will translate into smilies like :( or :) you can go down below the reply box and check the box that says "Disable smilies in text" under Miscellaneous Options and that won't happen.
