I can't delete that huntbar thing what so ever.

cannot delete no matter how much I mess around with the permissions. I gave full access to administrator and me and nothing. The problem is I deleted some users and this thing probably came from one of them. Is there anyone who knows in detail how I can delete this thing once and for all?? Thanks

make sure to boot to safe mode, then try to remove it.

Gary, make sure you go to the advanced security settings on the folder/file and take ownership. Then close it and open the security settings again to make sure your account has FULL CONTROL. Then close it. Then try to delete it (you may have to reboot first). This is what I had to do to remove it.

despite all the good intentions of several new users thay have you running riound in circles and wasting your time

The only way to remove this and other similar parasites is by stopping it's running processes by removing all it's registry entries first then rempving the actual files

do what I have advised below is the easiset way to see what is running and what needs to be removed to cure your problem

go to http://www.spywareinfo.com/~merijn/files/hijackthis.zip , and download 'Hijack This!'.
Unzip, doubleclick HijackThis.exe, and hit "Scan".

When the scan is finished, the "Scan" button will change into a "Save Log" button.
Press that, save the log somewhere, and please copy & paste its contents to the forum.

It will possibly show issues deserving our attention, but most of what it lists will be harmless or even required, so do NOT fix anything yet.
Someone here will be happy to help you analyze the results.
