I use AVG free virus scan.. It has found several trojans that it cannot delete or move to the vault. I think they are hidden files "c:\_restore\temp" is where they all seem to live.

I have tried going into DOS prompt and using attrib to unhide the files
"attrib -r -a -s -h c:\_restore".. However every time I do this it tells "access denied".. any help?

Try booting to safe mode and then removing them.

The virus is inside one of the System Restore folders. Disable System Restore, reboot, then re-enable System Restore. Run another virus scan and see what it shows.
