Okay I need help. Recently my laptop crashed and I had to reinstall Windows 10. My graphics driver is the only one I cannot get to reinstall correctly. It just has the yellow exclamation mark next to it in Device Manager.

What I've done so far:
Uninstalled/reinstalled the driver (several times)
Tried downloading and installing an older driver (several ones, several times)
Have tried updating/downloading it from Windows Update, ASUS and NVidia. (none have worked)
Checked for any 3rd party software that could be interfering
Set the BIOS to boot from defaults
Tried the NVIDIA CleanInstall app - no luck!

It's a NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960M -Windows 10 64 bit - Asus laptop model # GL552VW

Some of the errors I see in Device Manager:

Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43)

Device PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_139B&SUBSYS_1C5D1043&REV_A2\4&1eafe439&0&0008 requires further installation.

Any help is appreciated. This is driving me crazy. It also makes my laptop boot really slow. Just goes to a black screen after the ASUS logo then finally the Windows log in screen.
The only way I can rectify that is uninstalling the device altogether which I don't really want to do.

Thank you!

Nope. No luck. It's gotta be something with Windows 10.

Still says Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43)

Note: I also updated the BIOS. The device still shows the same problem.

Post a screenshot of device mgr.
Next when you clean install windows, it should be done in the following order;
1 Install the operating system
2 Update to the latest service pack. Not applicable for win10
3 Install chipset/mb drivers
4 Install sound, nic/lan/wireless drivers
5 Install video driver
Failure to install in the above order very often results in driver errors, drivers not config correctly, etc.

Did you install in the above order?

Attaching 3 screenshots.

And yes, that was the order. This really seems to be a Windows 10 issue - not Asus or NVIDIA.

I was hoping for some workaround or fix so I wouldn't have to do another reinstall of the OS.
