cannot get into website i frequent

hello all.

i usually visit cobaltss.net at least 10 times a day and randomly it wouldnt work. nothing changed from my side it just doesnt work and i keep getting connection timeout errors

when i use the proxy site hidemyass.com to view the site it works so im confused. the site is a forum btw and im not banned, cuz i can use it on my other laptop and at my work comp. im just confused right now.

This really is a common problem with very few solutions. Using a proxy server or Web proxy will definitely get you there.

If using a router, try the following:

Log onto router settings, select Wan settings and change MTU to 1396 (but remember original number in case it doesn't work). Click apply.

im using a belkin and i accessed it buy there's not a spot for me to enter that on it. im using model f5d7230-4

Try refreshing your DNS resolver cache by following these steps:

Click on Start > Run > type CMD

In the Command Prompt, type: ipconfig /flushdns

Reboot.

i actually tried that the day before. did a search on ff connection timeouts and saw it in a list of stuff to do.

tried it again. didnt work. now other sites are acting up. gonna see if a different browser does it too.


ok i used google chrome and im pretty much getting the same issue. ie is the same thing. this is nuts. why would sites all of a sudden stop working with no changes.


sometimes other ones load improperly as well. ive ran my virus scan multiple times to see if it finds anything. i have avg

Have you tried resetting your router to factory default settings?

tried it. that didnt do it either. on one of my car forums one of the admin asked to look at my host file and said it could be something with my isp

Please click here to download and install version 2.0.2 of the HijackThis Installer.

Run it and select Do a system scan and save a logfile.

The log will be saved in Notepad. Copy and paste the log in your next post.

Do not fix anything

There isn't anything wrong with your HOSTS file.

You could check with your ISP but they will rarely admit having a problem on their end...

this is pissing me off.. im finding out that other stuff doesnt work. my video chat program doesnt work anymore either. it keeps failing the connection test. this fkn sucks.
