Hi guys
I’m trying to install a children’s encyclopaedia on a laptop for my son. The cd-rom says it is for windows xp, which is what the laptop is running. It goes through the installation and setup process. But after the restart if I try to run the it I get the following message :

The sound software is not installed properly or has been disabled.
For more information see the README file installed with this program.
this title will now terminate.

Anybody have any thoughts on how I can get this running I would greatly appreciate it.

Hello, Nik38, and welcome to TSG.

1) Does the Windows Hardware Device Manager control panel show that a sound controller is installed and not showing any warnings or errors?

2) Are you able to hear sounds generated by Windows XP and by other applications?

3) What does the program's README file have to say about this error message?

4) What is the name and version number of the program?
