    Hello,
I am having a driver problem, which i find to be very weird. I cannot install, or uninstall a driver, nor can i disable on from device manager. When i try to do any of these I get either a "run DLL as an App has enountered a problem and needs to close" or if trying to do something from device manager, I get Microsoft Management Console has enountered a problem and needs to close. In the first case I believe the file was sysag.api in the second the file causing an error is mmc.exe. Any ideas on what to do? I am running xp home sp2. If you need more information just ask.
    Thanks.

Fankle, look in the Event Viewer for the error you are receiving, look under both Applications and System. Report back with the error logs.

There is a problem in the Microsoft Management Console and Microsoft has no fix for this error message that I can find. It could be an infection of some sort so let's start with this

To download HJTsetup.exe To Download HijackThis go to the following: http://www.thespykiller.co.uk/html/downloads.html
Save the file to your desktop.
Double click on the HJTsetup.exe icon on your desktop.
By default it will install to C:\Program Files\HijackThis.
Continue to click Next in the setup dialog boxes until you get to the Select Additional Tasks dialog.
Put a check by Create a desktop icon then click Next again.
Continue to follow the rest of the prompts from there.
At the final dialog box click Finish and it will launch Hijack This.
Click on the Do a system scan and save a log file button. It will scan and then ask you to save the log.
Click Save to save the log file and then the log will open in notepad.
At the top of the Notepad HJT log screen, hit Edit then Select All then click Edit and then click Copy doing that copies the text to the clipboard, you won't see it yet....
Open a TechSupportGuy forum Reply window for this thread, to have ready to paste the Hijackthis log into. Click once to place the typing cursor in the reply window.
At the top of your TSG/browser window, hit Edit then Paste
You should see your copied Hijackthis log appear in the reply space....then, submit the reply
DO NOT have Hijack This fix anything yet. Most of what it finds will be harmless or even required.

Secondly, I installed an ASIO driver because I was in a grind and needed it to work, now to troubleshoot the problem, I need to uninstall the driver, which is a problem because everytime I try to do such, I end up with the same error.

Alright now on to my final trick for this evening, I downloaded and installed hijack this, but I get the following error in event viewer when running the program:
    Event Type: Information
    Event Source: Application Popup
    Event Category: None
    Event ID: 26
    Date: 6/23/2006
    Time: 10:14:24 PM

    Computer: T2DRUM411
    Description:
Application popup: HijackThis.exe - Unable To Locate Component : This application has failed to start because MSVBVM60.DLL was not found. Re-installing the application may fix this problem.

For more information, see Help and Support Center at http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/events.asp.

I have not yet been able to run hijack this, but if I get it working I will post the log. I hope this can be fixed.
Thanks for your help so far.
