interesting - I am unable to logon to their website from my home desk top - my work laptop however works just fine. When I try to log on from home desktop the logon page just refreshes. I used to be able to get on from home but now I can not. I thought the inability to ping the bankofamerica site was related but maybe not.

odd, I have been following this thread, and noticed that DNS lookup returns different IPs than it did a few minutes ago.

Either their 'round robin' DNS is periodically pointing to offline servers, or they are doing some weekend IP change project.

I hard coded an IP dns name into my hosts file and it fixed the ping issue but I still can't logon from home. The logon page just refreshes. I can long on from work just fine. I thought the ping issue was related but maybe not ? I have called bofa many times and they just say they cannot help and it is my issue. I tried

I would remove the entry (or comment it out with #) from the hosts file, and flush the DNS cache of the affected PC.

    if still broke, then:

Can you temporarily create a new account on the affected PC, and log in to that to see if a browser setting is messed up?

ok so I removed the hosts entry and flushed the dns cache

    C:\Documents and Settings\George>ipconfig /flushdns

    Windows IP Configuration

Successfully flushed the DNS Resolver Cache.

Try to logon again and the page tries to load https://sitekey.bankofamerica.com/sas/signon.do

    but it does not load

    I can now ping

It seems like it possibly could be your internet provider? Or maybe their DNS.

Do you know how to manually set the DNS on your network adapter? If you do, try setting them to 208.67.222.222 and 208.67.220.220 (OpenDNS, I use it all of the time) in your network adapter's TCP-IP properties.

Reboot the PC and see if that helps.
