cannot play file,might not have a sound device installed

    Thats What my Windows media Player Says every time i wanna play a song or file or on any video or anything that has to do with sound ,,,supposely defaultdirect sound device is what shows as sound device in use but when i look to see it says no sound device????

    Welcome to TSG.
    What version of Windows do you have?
    Have you checked in Device Manager if anything is marked with a red X?
    My Computer, rightclick, Properties, Hardware, DEvice \Manager.

    You might have to update your driver on your sound device.
