I want to reinstall win2k from the disk resident install disk. It tells me that it cannot continue because another installation (of it doesn't say what) is in progress. Tells me to log out and log back in and the other installation will continue, finish it and then I can continue with the win2k install.
Problem is there is no other installation in progress. Logging out and in has no effect at all.
What would you do in a case like that?
I tried to get rid of IE. Then tried to reinstall it from MS download. That wouldn't work. Said it couldn't but didn't say why.
Just possibly that attempt has written something somewhere to say that a download/install is in progress. I wouldn't know.
Now I want to do a win2k reinstall as a way of fixing my win2k so's it's got IE back again as it should be. (But I won't use it... mozilla seems fine, without the security risks.)
