    Hi!

I am exasperated and frustrated! I use Ad-Aware, Microsoft AntiSpyware and Spybot-S&D. But could not prevent Elitum to invade my laptop and even after repeated scans and reboots I cant remove it. Would appreciate any help/suggestions/directions!

    Thanks a lot! :D

Any help? I have tried running all 3 (Lavasoft Ad-Aware, Microsoft AntiSpyware and Spybot-S&D) in safe mode with my laptop disconnected from the network, and deleted the spyware found, but to no avail.

I am getting something like 20-25 popups every hour, and it's getting quite irritating.

    Welcome to TSG

Run hijackthis again and put a checkmark against these entries....double check
    in case you miss anything....
.....then,close all browser and outlook windows INCLUDING THIS ONE and "fix checked"

    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [antiware] C:\windows\system32\eliteuww32.exe
    O1 - Hosts: 172.25.1.242 atl-cpp-msg

In HijackThis, hit the "Config"<"Misc Tools"<"Delete a file on reboot" buttons.
Locate and select this file for deletion and re-boot.
    C:\windows\system32\eliteuww32.exe
    See if that sorts it.

Apologies for the delay in reply... Was travelling.

Thanks steve... Managed to get rid of it. ATL-CPP-MSG is my remote mail server and hence i didn't remove that entry. I have installed spyblaster, and re-run checks using Ad-aware/MS AntiSpyware/Spybot... the onyl other thing I found and removed was a "DSO exploit".

Here's my hijackthis log again for your ref:
