I've had this problem for a long time, where I will right click on a file and try to send to "mail recipient," and what happens is this: if it's an image file, it asks do I want to make the picture smaller. I say fine. Then after the dialog box goes away, the desktop flashes blank for a moment and that's that. For a text file, I right click and get the profile settings; whien I say yeah, that's it, again, the screen flashes and nothing happens after that.

I have checked internet options-programs-mail and Thunderbird is correctly checked. HI cannot send anything to a mail recipient. owever, I use Word Perfect for my main word processing software, and under the "profile settings" is "Word Perfect 8," which I use.

Just fwiw: I also have MS Word 2006 or 2007 on my machine, and I notice that "windows messaging" lists that. Don't know if that has anything to do with anything...

I also have the similar problem that when I go to a web page and try to "send link to email recipient," the same thing happens; that is, nothing.

I really need help with this. Any ideas?

First of all, though I've never used that SendTo option, I think it is only for IMAP mail servers. You may not have one.

Secondly, if links don't work, either, then you may not have Thunderbird set as your default mail client.

No, I've used it for years and years and never had a problem until this last year...it's just a simple right click function.

Try resetting/toggling Thunderbird as the default. If you lost both, then the system doesn't know where your mail client is.

If you ran some registry cleaner, that is probably from that, along with a lot of future problems.
