    Hi,
I use a Netgear wireless network at home with a 200GB usb diskdrive connected via a Linksys 2.0 network storage link. I want to add another laptop onto the network with access to the usb drive. I can get internet access OK via a wireless card, but I cannot "see" the usb drive. All other pcs on the network can see and access it OK.

I am probably doing something incredibly stupid, but if anyone can tell me how to connevt I would be very grateful

    Thanks

It would help if you told us something about the network. Do you have a broadband router? What version/patch level is the Windows on the new laptop?

Open a DOS window and type:

    IPCONFIG /ALL >C:\RESULT.TXT

Open C:\RESULT.TXT with Notepad and copy/paste the entire results here.

    Thanks Jon Will,

I pulled up a command prompt and typed in IPCONFIG /ALL >C:\RESULT.TXT but it returned nothing (just the original c:\Documents and Settings\Administrator>)

I am connecting via a netgear wireless broadband router DG834G and all pcs are running XP Pro (the new laptop has Ver 5.1 build 2600.xpsp2.050301-1526:sp1)

No problems in connecting to the internet, but if I try to view network connections I cannot see the Linksys network storage link (it is still visible on other computers on my network)

    Hope this helps

    You missed the second part:

Open C:\RESULT.TXT with Notepad and copy/paste the entire results here.

Can you see other shared resources on other machines? Can you ping the NAS device by IP or name?
