Hi

I'm not sure but a quick Google found this:

http://www.domainscape.co.uk/technical_faq/outlookexpress_errormessages.htm

See the error code and see what it suggests.

Sorry this does not solve the problem. Everything about connections is OK. the problem must be in this bloody windows or outlook itself. I also tried running regsvr32 inetcomm.dll
It does not help.

Hi monique26

If you have not already been welcomed,

Welcome to Tech Support Guy Forums!

I received your pm and am replying here.

I have Microsoft Outlook 97 so your settings, steps, may be different from mine.

Try recreating your Internet E-mail account
In MS Outlook
Tools > Services > select Internet E-Mail account
If needed click on Properties first and copy all the information to paper.
Remove the Internet E-Mail account
and Add a new Internet E-Mail account

When filling in your new account information, Clear any email addresses that may automatically appear in the email address window.
Type your email address in, do not copy and paste from the old information if you retained it.
Type in your email address like so:
[email protected] leave out the <[email protected]>

Then send yourself a test email to see if your SMTP server will authenticate your address.

Let us know what happens.

Yes, this works, but this is no problem. Problem is, That application Maximizer sends such a form of mails to outook or outlook express: xxx xxx <[email protected]> And this returns error. But If I write by myself xxx xxx <[email protected]> in OE 6.0 or Outlook 2000, it goes trough. This is the real problem. And I do not know why this is happening. It worked in the past.

Maximizer is a crm program that we used in our company. (www.maximizer.com)
it does not have its own mail sender, so it uses outlook or outlook express. It is completely compatible with win xp and we did not have any problems in the past. But a few week ago I upgradet my win xp to win xp sp2. I suspect AV mcafee 4.5 that we use, but i do not understand why on all machines everything is ok, only on my and another one (also win xp sp2) doesnt work.

Is McAfee set to scan all email messages?

If so, have you tried disabling the email scanner in McAfee?

Yes, you are still protected, email scanning does not offer additional protection. It could also corrupt your message store for Outlook Express.

As long as your Anti-virus scanner is kept updated, your anti-virus scanner should notify you if you click on an email message that contains a virus.

So I just turn off e-mail scanning to see if it works or to turn off scanning files where locally mails are stored? - ann why on other machines everything work? and why OE recognises the address syntax if typewritted, an not if send by maximizer althouhg it is COMPLETELY the same?

Disable the email scanning only.

The scheduled scan McAfee does should scan those files.

Since I do not have access to those machines, I cannot answer that.

Found the following at Maximizer's website.

Maximizer > Support > Knowledge Base Search

http://support.maximizer.com/script...29ydD0mcF9yb3dfY250PTExMjEmcF9wYWdlPTE*&p_li=

Just click on Knowledge Base Search on the left of that webpage to see more information on conflicts/errors between Maximizer and other software.
I have also included it here: Knowledge Base Search

You may need to reenter the problem addresses.
Delete the email address within the account and REKEY (not copy and paste) them, Maximizer may have picked up the extra <[email protected]> and is not able to resolve it.

Was SP2 installed after Maximizer was installed?
