Something's missing or changed on my computer preventing me from installing software updates. I don't know when this started, but would hazard a guess at early March. For one program, the work around I found was to uninstall the program, reboot the computer, and then to install the updated program off the web. Other programs do not have that solution available.

Unfortunately, most programs just state that the update cannot be performed, but do not mention the file causing the stoppage. However, trying to update Ad-Aware, I was informed that the SSL download failed.

Any suggestions on how to resolve/ cure this?
