    I can't access msn.com or microsoft.com. Also can't access with xbox 360.

I have three computers with same problem. Also 2 xbox 360 with same problem.

I have tried to connect directly from my modem.

    I can access msn.com and microsoft.com using a proxy.

I have a backup modem, same problem. Both are westell 1200.

I use Verizon DSL. Called customer service. They said line was OK.

I know others in my neighborhood do not have this problem.

    Suggestions?

1- Please click HERE to download HijackThis.
    2- Run the program.
3- Click on the Main Menu button if not already there.
4- Select Do a system scan and save a logfile.
5- Copy and paste the scan log from Notepad into your next reply.
6- Do not "Fix" anything unless advised to do so.

    For Windows 7 and Vista:

If Windows is denying access to the Hosts file, disable the UAC and run HijackThis again.

Well, I can see your Hosts file is intact, so that's not the issue.

Doesn't seem to be the router either since you have tried bypassing it.

I would contact Microsoft to see if your IP address isn't blocked by their servers. If no luck, I would talk to your ISP again and insist...
