Is this a computer that was given to you by a company?

OK, the reason I ask is that error appears to be more to do with activating within a company server. (volume license)

To confirm, let's get the information about your Windows:

    • Download MGADiag to your desktop.
    • Double-click on MGADiag.exe to launch the program
    • Click "Continue"
    • Ensure that the "Windows" tab is selected (it should be by default).
    • Click the "Copy" button to copy the MGA Diagnostic Report to the Windows clipboard.
    • Paste the MGA Diagnostic Report back here in your next reply.

Don't bother with the MGADIAG unless this is Windows 7 or earlier.

What is the exact product/model number and serial number of that Toshiba laptop?
(Note: The product/model number should be 2 sets of characters separated by a dash)

Once it's correctly identified and its support site can be located, we can help you better.

If you have photos, documents, etc. in that laptop that you don't want to lose, you need to create at least 1 backup copy to external media.

If the Windows operating system crashes or if the hard drive fails or if that laptop gets stolen, you probably can kiss it all good-bye.

As TerryNet mentioned, you can't run that utility on Windows 10, well you can but it won't return accurate information.

First I'm curious, are you saying the laptop hasn't been activated since you got it? If that's the case, why not?

Please open an Elevated Command Prompt window (on the Start screen, type "Command" - a Command Prompt icon will appear, right-click on it and select Run as Administrator) then at the prompt, type the following (be sure to include the spaces):

    Licensingdiag.exe -report %userprofile%\desktop\report.txt -log %userprofile%\desktop\repfiles.cab

After running the command, two files will appear on your desktop, report.txt and repfiles.cab. Please open the report.txt file in Notepad and copy and paste the contents here. The repfiles.cab is only a backup file and can be ignored for the time being.
