Cant axcess the internet

    Hi my friend has a problem with his computer. He has a firewall protection, but no anti virus. Its running at the same speed and every program works except the internet. So he cant dl hijack this or anything. Can anyone help him? Anyone know what might be wrong?

    Hi, There may be some way to help> need some details though.

    Version of Windows> 98, ME, XP etc?

    What was he doing, such as removing ad-ware/spyware from that computer?

    Download Hijackthis on whatever computer you can to a floppy disk and copy the hijackthis.exe file to a folder, like this: Right click an empty spot on the desktop, select New>folder and rename that folder to HJT. Copy the hijackthis.exe file to that folder and run it from there. Ask for help if you don't know how to copy the file to the HJT folder..

    HJT when run> hit the scan button, it will change to Save Log, save the log as hijacthis.txt. It should open with Notepad. Next, get online with a good computer and Copy and Paste the entire log into a reply right here below this post. Wait for help.

    DO NOT USE HJT YOURSELF TO FIX ANYTHING, unless you are experienced with that.
    There are some other tools that do fit on floppy disks (CDs will work also, if you have some blanks and a burner on a good pc).
