    Using XP Home

If you can't boot into safe mode and you don't have recovery disc is it possible to use the six boot floppies from MS to get into recovery console to run fixmbr?

If you have the XP distrobution CD, insert that in and you should be able to do it.. As for the XP floppies, I'm not sure..

You could try a dos-boot disk and use "fdisk /mbr" but I'm not sure what the outcome would be.. Might want to check into it or wait to see if someone yells 'STOP' here :)
