Hey all,

I've been having some serious issues with my pc's general speed. It launches most things normally but certain things have had thsir responsiveness reduced to a crawl and certain things wont open for almost 10 minutes at a time with no indication that theyre working in the background. Even clicking shut down from the start menu takes about 2 to 3 minutes to even attempt to start the shut down process.

The issues started when I accidentally installed some common foistware. AVG Virus protection. I spent the better part of a day trying to remove it but finally managed to do so. Ever since then, after its been removed its caused all these other problems.
Ive tried going back to a restore point but at that point Windows crashed completely and now I can't even boot the pc. I tried reseting the pc as my last option but even that doesnt work now. I keep getting an error message and it refuses to complete the process regardless of the settings I choose.

First thing to do is download the AVG removal tool which cleans up any remaining files or folders.

Yeah that was part of the process. I Successfully removed it with that tool and ran it in safe mode. But after that point I was still seeing a ton of slowdown everywhere. I should have included in the original message that I had run through the best process I could find to get rid of everything AVG related.
