Trying to boot W98 with Emergency Start Up Disk because it won't boot on startup or in Safe mode. Using the Startup disk, I
selected 'Start Computer w/CD Rom support and then I
get the message that the Diagnostic tools successfully loaded in 'D' drive & Drv E: is Driver MSCD unit 0 and
Drv F: is Driver MSCD unit 1
With the WIN98 disk in the drive and after the prompt A:\> I entered several commands: E:WIN98 E:\CD \WIN98 and tried the letter 'F' as the drive #, all of these give me an error message "wrong drive or invalid command". How should I enter the prompt command? Thanks

What happens when you just enter 'e:'?

Just change to the root of each CD-ROM to find which one has the Windows CD in it. Type E: and enter and then do a "dir" (without quotes) command and press enter. IF it is the correct drive you will get a directory listing. If it says it's empty typ in F: and enter. Once you find the drive with the CD in it just type setup and hit enter. zzzzooooooommmm...you are off!!
