I'm trying to mirror my win 10 (20H2) laptop on new 2021 55" LG nano TV wirelessly. The TV shows connected to my WIFI - same network as my laptop. I have my home wifi set up as Private and discoverable. If I try to CONNECT to the TV , the device is not found. I have watched several youtube videos, but they deal with media playing on the TV, or have different remote than Me. There is reference to a Device Connector app, but there is no such thing on my list of apps. If anyone has a step by step solution, I'd really like to hear/see it.
Thanks in advance.
Peter,
Thanks for responding. I'm in Canada. Yes, I did see that video and I do have the latest webOS. There is no Device Connector app or image on the apps list. This is brand new TV and I don't see an option to manually turn on screen mirroring
As an aside, I have an older 2014/15 samsung on the same network. I have to go to Screen Mirroring on the TV input, and then can screen cast/connect to it from this same laptop. I can see the wireless displays names in my devices:
I also found a link regarding same sort of issue and it focused on ensuring the PC supported Miracast. Ran the suggested code: Hardware Scheduling: Supported:False Enabled:False
Graphics Preemption: Primitive
Compute Preemption: Thread group Miracast: Supported
Detachable GPU: No
Perhaps there's a setting in WIN 10 that I haven't set?? But I can't find an answer.
Thanks again for responding. Re Post #4 --yes I've seen it. Where she right clicks on screen, I don't get that option, but I have a hot link in Settings->Display and Connect to wireless display. I get this far and it continues to search for a device
As for the link in #5 the LG Smart Share says " Then you will be able to watch movies, display photos, or play the music that you want to cast from your Windows 10 to your LG TV. " I can get the media player to work via the TV, but I don't want to play music or videos, I want the TV to act as a monitor when I need it. The LG Screen Share gives me options for Photos, Videos, Music but not for projecting the PC screen as a monitor.
In all the videos I've found and watched - they show a Device Connector, or when they click on Connect to a wireless display --the wireless displays on their network show up on the right side of the screen where they can select the device to connect with. My set up just can't find the devices even though they are on the wifi network.
I'm sure with all the smarts in this TV and the Magic Control there is a way to get it to be connected as a PC/laptop screen. I really don't want to add more software, especially when I'm sure it's already "in" the TV.
I tried that earlier. I was #6 in a chat queue--waited 10 minutes got to #1, then got a message saying chat was busy and I should send an email.
I did a chat with LG previously. They couldn't answer directly but took my name, phone, email and TV specs and said they would pass it to their technical people and get back to me via email--Never got a response.
It's extremely frustrating, especially when the videos tell you how easy it is.
Surprise surprise
Do you have this ?
On the TV under settings do you have a connection setting then under that a mobile connection management
I thought you were going
I have a screen on TV re Air play wirelessly share content from your iphone, ipad or mac. On the right side it shows my Network name and below that choose this device LG webOS TV nano85APA and below that
Airplay and homekit settings (hot). when I click the link it wants a code or password.
I was going, but saw that you had responded. I'm going now --will check in tomorrow.
I just turned DLNA and Media Streaming options on as per your post.
The PC still does not see the TV when I try to connect.
I did check(google) whether DLNA was needed for casting/projecting. DLNA Media Streaming and Mirroring allows you to Stream your local Media content such as HD Videos, Audio files and Images on to DLNA enabled Smart TVs. ... For Miracast based Screen mirroring please make sure That your TV or Wireless Display device is enabled with Miracast Technology. Seems it's really just for music, videos and audio [media streaming]
I have options on TV to do streaming already--that's not what I want.
At this point my guess is a setting(s) in the laptop or TV that is preventing things.
Thanks for responding.
Let's do the basic
On your tv go to settings network and look for the ip address it will be something like 192.168.0.5
or 10.0.0.5.
On laptop open cmd prompt and type in ping and the ip address and press enter
Example ping 192.168.0.5 (Press enter key)
You should get a reply
I know this is basic but we have to make sure laptop sees tv
I watched some youtube -airplay with LG TV.
I am now able to connect the iphone screen to the LG TV!!!!!
But still can not Connect the laptop with the TV.
Well it is a start - What did I miss in the instructions I gave you?
