Can't connect client/server in virtual PC

    I'm not sure if it's the right forum, but I'm having trouble connecting my client/server in my virtual PC. they just aren't seeing each other when it comes to connecting them to continue my server class.

    not sure what info you need to from me, so sorry if I sound like am idiot.

    server 2003
    windows xp

    running on virtual PC

    I'm running windows 7 on my computer

    Under the NIC settings use local only.

    In the virtual PC console hilight the server and press settings. Make adapter 1 local only. Do this for both the DC and any workstation VM's as well. What do you mean by they cannot see each other? Have you created a user accout for the client logging in? Have you joined the computer to the domain (it will never authenticate until you do).

    we got it! my classmates did it & i was so lost, but i think it was along the lines of what you did. thanks for your help!
