I so hope someone here can help me, but please be gentle. I'm a tech-dummy.

Starting this morning, I became unable to connect to several sites that I've always been able to connect to before. One of the sites is for my own business, so it's a problem. The thing that these sites have in common is that they're all hosted by Dreamhost. I know that the host isn't having a problem because I've had other people access these sites from other locations and it's all fine.

I'm using a laptop on a wireless connection. None of the laptops in our house can connect to these sites.

I did try a cloaking site and was able to connect through that.

Based on the fact that you were able to get through by cloaking your IP address, it certainly sounds to me like your IP address is being blocked by Dreamhost, or possibly somewhere else along the way. You should contact Dreamhost directly before you put much time into looking for another solution. If they can't resolve the issue, you could have your internet service provider issue you a new IP address, however, you should note that if you have any VPN's or other connections that rely on a dedicated IP address, those connections would all have to be reset, probably manually, so I don't recommend that unless you are already on a dynamic IP and your systems are preconfigured to handle IP changes automatically.

Thank you! I tried resetting my IP address by turning off my modem overnight. It appears to have worked!
