joe could be right.............how did you un-install kazaa?
there could be leftovers from that program.

scroll down to "kazaabegone".....it will get rid of all remnants of kazaa and k-lite.
then re-install k-lite.

Well i had uninstalled kazaa from from the comp with the problems and reinstalled kazaa again and for some reason it wont connect. If you must know the other thread was different to this one i think. On my personal computer i cant use kazaa but on the other i cant. I had just finished cleaning it up with Ad-Ware and posted the HJT log for it and took of what they told me to take off. I think this might have to do with the problem. I think i must of taken something of that i shouldnt of. If i did do this is there a way to get a file back even though i got rid of it? Well thanx for the help.

Hi RxQueen,

I will refrain from discussions promoting K-Lite since in most Forums it is taboo because it is considered a "hack" (illegal) version of Kazaa Media Desktop and most Forum moderators, as a general rule, will avoid and discourage discussions relating to K-Lite. However, if you click on that link and go to FAQ on the left of the main screen I'm sure you will find answers to your questions.

Hi RXQueen

the reason most here dislike KAzaa & other similar P2P filesharing programmes is that they come bundled with lots of scumware/pop up advertising/browser redirections and general hijacks, all of which impair the use of the computer, slow down your browser and cause a lot of unnecessary work for the security techs on these forums.

if you must use a file sharing program look at this site for lists of "safe" programs to use

I do not know if is in fact true but a couple of days ago there was a news show talking about kazaa lite being the one tracking its user so it could later send all pertinent user information to RIAA, and this is how RIASS knows who and how to sue you for downloading song ilegally.
I have stoped using kazaa lite, any suggestions?(besides buying the cd's)

Could this be because most forums are oblivious to the effects of spy/adware?This is not directed at you Telstar but Some peoples "holier than thou" attitude is misdirected in this case and should be pointed at the makers of KMD and its counter part scumware vendors Grokster,Morpheous,Limewire etc....the list goes on and on.
This "hacked" version of KMD is with us because someone actually abjected to giving someone else access to their computer
The offensive code in these badly constructed programs is mostly flagged as Trojans by the main anti virus vendors.
Its perfectly fine to promote and talk about the benefits of K-lite over its B`stard half brother on this forum.

take care.

I have found it a little curious, bordering on disturbing, to find Kazaa Lite actually being censored in other Forums. As you can see in one of the random quotes below found in one of the Forums, even the mention of "Kazaa Lite" was taboo. Instructions were to call it "that other Kazaa".
It's as if Sharman/KMD was an advertiser and the mention of "competition" was contracturally forbidden.

Who knows? I have found this trend to be so noticibly prevalent that I had the feeling that in Forum Moderator "weekly meetings" a memo goes out to Moderators and Administrators to warn Forum members not to mention the "K-***" word.

Here are a few quotes from "unnamed" Forums:

Random Quotes I found in "OTHER" Forums:
Hey folks just a friendly reminder,,lets not even bring Kazaa lite up on the forums. just refer to it as "that other kazaa" or something.
Its a cracked version of Kazaa and I would rather not even discuss it here. they are already cracking down hard on some sites for that. many thanks!!
Be that as it may,,the folks at Sharman Networks could have a real heyday with us if we allow it to go on. their software is not illegal,,unethical in my opinion,, but still its ok to use it.
What is it exactly that dampens the "freedom of speech" that we otherwise enjoy in posting our thoughts in open Forums? Why are Forum members (ok, not THIS forum) prohibited from talking about "that other Kazaa"?

Food for thought!
