In my Local Network have a NAS WD MyCloudEx2 Ultra with the latest SW and are running a PLEX Server on it which hosts my Music Library. I have a an IMAC with MAC OS Mojave 10.14.6.
This ha been working perfectly well for a couple of years. But since a week or two I get the following message when I try to log in from my IMAC (the same is valid for Iphone and IPAD) to the NAS:
The connection to the Web site is not secure
    ......
    Certificate invalid
By overriding the message I can still log in to the NAS but i doesn't work to connext to my PLEX server on the NAS.
I Include A snapshot . Sorry for the Swedish but at least you can see the images I get and the main message about the Certificate

Recent versions of major browsers now issue a warning when you go to a site with a self signed certificate. Many devices use self signed certificates because the vendor cannot maintain a live ordinary certificate and update them when they expire. There are two major purposes of a certificate, a) it identifies the company b) it enables encrypted communication. So a self signed cert does not do a), but still can do b).

Thanks for the answer but this doesn't help me since the I can't start the PLEX Server Application on the MyCloudEx2Ultra 2 NA independent if I use the IMAC my Iphone etc...
The Plex server answers(see attachment): MyCloud Server currently not available....
This started to occur at the same time I started to get the security warning see above. So my guess is it must be connected but how do I solve it? Is it possible to update / replace the certificate ??
PS this is a great service and I really appreciate all help I can get since I m not a very high tech guy as you probably understand... DS

Check the system time and date on the iMac to see if it is correct.

I'm confused with all the moving parts here and with the foreign language with the screen shots. I don't know if that is the web client for Plex being launched on some client computer or is it the web interface for the Plex server running on the NAS.

From the message it appears, your Plex server does not have Internet access. I seriously doubt the certificate issues have any bearing on this problem. I'm also not a fan of running Plex on a NAS appliance. You're asking the NAS to do more than what it was really designed to do. I run my Plex server as a VM on a very beefy server with its own dedicated local storage.

Ok, I will try to answer your questions. But I can assure you that using the NAS for running PLEX server just for streaming HD music has been working perfectly well for nearly 3 years so thats not part of the problem. About the foreign language I have tried to translate the most importtant part of the messages....
The NAS (and then Plex Server) is of course has Internet access, I can log into the NAS with the security warning message. The earlier screen dump shows Plex being launched on my IMAC using the PLEX App (same result using WEB Client). But I get the same result from any client used (Iphone , IPAD etc)
I incliude another snapshot showing the the IMAC has access to the NAS Music library without any problem.

Have you tried rebooting the NAS? Maybe the PLEX really isn't running.

You are accessing the NAS with your browser, right? Try clearing the history of your browser and then try accessing the NAS, does anything show up at all ?

Finally everything works fine again! The sad thing is that I'm not sure what was wrong. When I installed the latest version of the PLEX server but also reset all parameters to original it now works...
THANKS for all support and good suggestions! For someone like me not being very skilled in the area its very helpfull!
