    Welcome to TSG:
Exact text of message would b e helpful.
Any hardware/software changes?(adding a new security suite or changing the router settings)
    Then,results of ipconfig /all:
Start, Run, CMD, OK to open a command prompt:
(For Vista or 7 type CMD in the Search box after Start)

In the command prompt window that opens, type the following command:

Note that there is a space before the /ALL, but there is NOT a space after the / in the following command.

    IPCONFIG /ALL

Right click in the command window and choose Select All, then hit Enter to copy the contents to the clipboard.
Paste the results in a message here.

If you are on a machine with no network connection, use a floppy, USB disk, or a CD-RW disk to transfer a text file with the information to allow pasting it here.

Fails on several networks, or just one?

For an attempted connection please show ...

Start, Run, CMD, OK to open a command prompt:
(For Vista or 7 type CMD in the Search box after Start)

    Type the following command:

    IPCONFIG /ALL

[Note that there is no space between the slash and ALL.]

Right click in the command window and choose Select All, then hit Enter.
Paste the results in a message here.

If necessary use a text file and removable media to copy the results to a computer with internet access.

    hi again
the exact message is "make sure your computer is in range of "Belkin_N_Wireless_C2571F" and that the network settings match the wireless router or access point settings" iv checked the settings alongside my other laptop and they match and i had not changed any of the settings or security since it was working automatically

it has been working on all networks so far but since the problems i havent been able to try on another network

here is what came up with the ipconfig /all

Levin: Don't understand your post.If this is a new problem, please start your own thread.

    Rob:
Let's delete any wireless profiles that may exist and then try to log on again:
    http://mgmcc.forumotion.net/t109-removing-an-existing-wireless-profile
    Then,let's see device manager
Let’s take a look at the status of the network adapters

    Device manager:

Hold the Windows key and press R, then type devmgmt.msc

Please respond to all the following steps.
    1. Under Network adapters, please tell me all the devices listed.
    2. Are there any devices under Network adapters that have a red x displayed?
    3. Also, are there any devices anywhere in the Device Manager display with yellow ? or ! displayed?
    4. should be enabled and working properly.
    5. If error code,what is it ?

It would be best if you could post a screen shot of Device Manager with the Network adapters and Other devices sections expanded.

To post a screen shot of the active window, hold the Alt key and press the PrtScn key. Open the Windows PAINT application and Paste the screen shot. You can then use PAINT to trim to suit, and save it as a JPG format file. To upload it to the forum, open the full reply window and use the Manage Attachments button to upload it here.

And you are sure that the wireless switch is on ?:

here should be the screen shot from device manager

it has actually just randomly and rather frustratingly decided to just work again so im sorry if i appear to have wasted ur time!
but would appreciate any advise to prevent it from happening again. i have not touched anything to make it start working again it just decided to on its own accord and everything looks and says the same that it did when not working as far as im aware!
i followed your steps anyway and none had red or yellow icons and i had been on that area when it was not working and looked exactly the same with everything enabled and no error codes

OK:Your first ipconfig showed both wireless connections in disconnected state.
Might be interesting to see an ipconfig /all from the working environment.
And did you follow the profile removal steps? Just curious.
Did you re-boot the pc or did the connection just start working on it's own.?
And,you are certainly not wasting our time.We are all here to assist on any networking issues. :D

i didnt follow the profile removal steps as the link only showed for vista and xp and im using windows 7 and by the time i tried to work out how to do that on windows 7 it started working again
i have been rebooting the laptop throughout the day to see if that worked but i had not done it for over an hour when it did just start working by itself

this is my ipconfig /all from the working state
