I have two computers connected via a 4-port hub.
One computer is running Windows 2000 and the other is running Windows 95.
    W2000 machine has the following
    Computeer Name: ABC
    Workgroup: Joey
    IP Address:192.168.0.1
    subnet:255.255.255.0

Windows 95 machine has the following:
    Computer Name: DEF
    Workgroup: Joey
    IP Address:192.168.0.2
    subnet:255.255.255.0

Both machines have there file sharing on and the little hand is under my C: drive and D: drive on both computers.

The Windows 2000 machine can see both computers but the Windows 95 machine can only see itself.

    What am I dong wrong??

    please help.

    thank you,
    SEnna

I am assuming you have the same workgroup name and each computer can ping the other.

I'm pretty sure you need the Winsock2 update for the Win95 computer. The same would be needed it you were trying to connect it to XP as well.

Remove the C$ share on the windows 2000 machine, that will allow you to see the shares on the w2k.

I'm pretty sure that if you try to \\ip or \\UNC you get an error message with $.

    Your ipconfig looks fine.

You do not need to remove the C$ share. Just create a new one with whatever name you like (e.g. C_DRIVE).

From experience, your going to need Winsock2 update.

Also create the same user name and password on the Windows2000 computer that is logging into the Win95 one.

    Thanks,
How do I go about updating my Winsock2?
My C: drive share name for the W2000 machine is "C share"

Why do I need to create the same user name for the W2000 machine as the W95 machine. The W2000 machine name is "Neuz" and the 95 is "Rob" Is that not correct?

    Thanks for everyones help.
