Just recently I have not been able to delete any mail from my inbox. I can click and drag to other folders that I have set up, but can't even drag to the inbox. When I attempt to delete, it either sits and does nothing, or error message pops up and say "File can not be deleted"...Help, my inbox is overloaded.

I use Win98, and IE5.0 (deleted 6.0 to see if that would clear it up, but it didn't)...thanks!

You don't say what kind of email? Web based? Outlook Express? AOL?

Just on the chance that you use Outlook Express:
Corrupted file may be the cause.
    1) take any emails you want to keep out of inbox folder.
    2) be sure OE is closed
    3) you need to delete INBOX.DBX

Here is where it is located in Windows 98. (I believe OE 5.0 has DBX files):

Outlook Express will rebuild - but if you are nervous about deleting or just want to save the data, move it and save until you are satisfied that OE is working properly.
