A friend asked me to help out what I thought was a bit of a "silly" request when I came across an error I've never seen and can't seem to get around. In MM, I try to delete certain selections from his library (and I've tried several different selections) and I get the error:
"ERROR: Database fetch (mim:database:Track: <a very long bunch of letters and #'s>) = FAILED"
I haven't tried to delete the entire library b/c he wants to keep at least half of what he's got.
Does he want to get rid of the actual music files themselves? If so another option would be to delete them outside of MM, wherever he keeps his music. Then back in MM's options, set up these folders as 'watch folders'. Selecting 'check watchfolders' will then update and remove the deleted files from the library.
I've came a across a few of my songs in MusicMatch v10.00.4040 that when i attempt to delete them it says that it deleted them but they are still there. Some you can play others it says it cannot find. When i shut down and reboot they are still there and if you attempt to delete them again it does the exact same thing..."deletes" them but yet they remain.
Anybody know how to get rid of them???
I wanted to start from scratch and reload all of my music into a freshly installed MM and so i deleted all of the music i could....hence the remaining "undeleteables" problem.
I've tried the following:
Uninstalled MM and trashed (and emptied) the MM folders / dir and then ran a registry cleaner to try and clear all the reg entries. Rebooted and reloaded MM and it still brings up the undeleteable songs but the others are gone!!!!! I cannot get MM to to "forget" the songs. DOES ANYBODY KNOW HOW TO CLEAR THE "MEMORY" FROM MM? I am suspecting a file that i am not seeing that it is getting it's "memory" from but where the heck is it?
PLEASE help!
