I have a Compaq Presario F755US Notebook PC, Windows Vista is my operating system. The problem started about 2 months ago when I tried to run a CD. Nothing happened when I put it in, so I went to the start up menu and clicked run. I got an error message that said "Unable to find a CD-ROM/DVD drive on this computer". I checked my device manager and it doesn't show up there. I've also updated my BIOS and physically took the drive out and put it back in to see if it would reinstall and it hasn't. The drive itself still makes noise when I put something in it, so I'm clueless on what the problem is. Can anyone help?
