I can't figure out the pattern that triggers it, but several times a day I will click on a message and get am error response saying OE "could not display the message" and suggesting it is a memory problem. When that happens, clicking on any message produces the same result. At the same time, I am unable to delete messages from the folder, although I get no error message, just no action. When I close OE and reopen it, the problem goes away for a little while, then returns without warning. I have plenty of memory and disk space available, although sometimes I notice 100 percent of CPU is in use and I can't tell why.

    I have:
--Shrunk my folders and compacted them
--Reinstalled Internet Explorer 7 (including OE) after using regedit to zero out OE, which one tech suggested as the way to uninstall OE.

Thanks for any advice you can offer.

I had this same problem for the last few days and then all of a sudden, my e-mails started disappearing. I lost several thousand e-mails earlier today and am wondering how, if it's even possible, to get them back. Any clue what's causing it and it there is a solution?
