can anyone help? I have plugged a SATA drive in as an external drive via usb. I cannot view the contents of the drive so that I can move them. But if I go into any virus program and run them, they will run on the drive and find NO errors.

Is this the first time you have connected this drive to the computer that you are referring to? Has this computer been able to see these files before? What operating system are you using? Is the same thing happening with any flash drives?

The anti virus program that you used to scan this drive was it running from the main drive on your computer or was it Running from the external drive?

i am working on someone else;s hard drive. it is a sata drive that I have hooked up through usb to IDE/ SATA cord. I can view the file contents while in a repair program...but cant view using the "my computer" option. I thought it might have to do with the User restrictions setting...but I dont think so... I actually want to just save her files to another hard drive...but since I cant view them, I cant move them.
