I created an icon using the iIcon program. Saved it to my clipart folder. It is there - but shows as a blank. I managed to open it with Paint but when I try to use the new icon to replace one on my desktop, it won't work. I have often changed my desktop icons before without trouble. Any ideas?

I don't know anything about your icon program, but did you save the icon as a windows icon with the .ico file extension?

Thank you for responding. After creating the icon, I saved it in the usual way, giving it a name and selecting where it should be saved. There wasn't any way to change how it was saved, the program stated 'icon file' & and that's all
