    I recently got a D-Link DIR-615 Router

I'm trying to log into it, but keep getting a username/password error.

I've Re-set the thing by pressing in the reset button, but still can't get in. I'm using the defaults suggested in the manual.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks

    Thanks Triple6

I now know why I couldn't get in. I was logging in with the Username as the name of the router (as I used to with my lynksys), but it's "admin" & the password I set.

I got rid of the Linksys, because it kept re-setting itself every few days + the D-Link is Wireless "N"

Have to say that D-Link is FAR more complex for a novice like me .

I see that my Firmware is V1.00, but I can't update it. Tried all sorts!!

First download the firmware .BIN file from the DLink website to your hard drive, and make sure you have a wired connection (not wireless). Once you are logged into the router, click Tools > Firmware. At the bottom of the screen next to Upload, browse to the .BIN file for the firmware, then click Upload.

FWIW my WBR-2310 with firmware version 1.00 used to reset itself every week or so. It hasn't reset itself for months since I upgraded it to 1.04.
