I'm running Windows Me on an HP Pavilion XL753 and am having problems with it freezing. I'm tired of Me and ready to upgrade to XP. However, I can't get XP to install, so I tried formatting the 30GB drive from a Windows Me startup disk. I repeatedly get told "format terminated." I've run MS Windows Memory Diagnostic extended test and it indicated no errors. And I can still boot WinMe and my files are still existent. Any ideas?

Did you insert the xp disk and try to install the upgrade from your desktop?
