I installed an HP P450 motherboard, pulled from HP D530 SSF Desktop, in a mini-tower case to build a new server, but when I power it up I get a black screen with the D450 SSF Desktop ID and boot options at the bottom. The boot options are ''F9>Boot Menu..F10>Setup...F12>Network Service Boot'', however none are accessible from this screen; I have to hit the key before the screen appears. When I do press the appropriate key I go to another black screen, only now it will have whatever key option I selected printed at the bottom, i.e. "Boot Menu". Still I have nothing else on the screen to select or change.

I have installed a SATA hard drive with an OS, but since I can't access the boot options nothings happens. Has anyone seen this problem before or have any suggestions about how to get past this point and get the motherboard to load to the new OS. Thanks in advance.

Have you tried taking the components out of the case, laying them on a static resitant surface; and connecting it all outside of the case? (you can then rule out/in the motherboard shorting to the case)

I haven't tried that, but I will and provide feedback. Thanks for the suggestion.
